Value Delivered
With a deliberate focus on cost, schedule, quality, and operability, EMCOR Construction Services Midwest (ECS Midwest), in conjunction with the progressive design-build team, completed the design and construction of the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and low voltage systems for this new 21,500 square foot community activities center.
Client Objectives
Taylor Community School Corporation and the Taylor Township community needed to add a multi-purpose space to host a variety of school and community activities.
Solutions
The design-build team maximized the use of existing support amenities and infrastructure, while accommodating additional features in the pre-engineered building used for this project. The center houses:
- Three regulation-sized high school basketball courts
- A three-lane walking track
- Two ceiling-hung batting cages
- Pickleball courts
- Portable bleachers
- Striping and equipment for additional athletic events
Along with the addition of the Community Center, the team remodeled roughly 2,000 square feet of existing area used for coaches’ offices, film rooms, and storage areas. The project also included a dedicated connector between the high school and adjacent annex building.
ECS Midwest, along with sister companies Havel and Shambaugh, provided:
- Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system design, engineering, and installation
- Low voltage electrical systems
- Temperature controls systems
- Fire protection systems
