Value Delivered
EMCOR Construction Services Midwest provided this client’s North Central High School with a new building automation control network (BACnet).
We performed the work under a guaranteed energy savings contract which guaranteed a 10-year total of $418,511 in energy and operational cost savings. These savings were enough to cover all project costs in slightly over three and a half years.
The new automation system’s utility-grade capabilities now enable the district to meter, monitor, and control the school’s energy consumption and costs far more precisely than was possible with their previous campus-wide metering system.
Our solution helps improve the school’s indoor air quality, enhance building comfort, and increase system reliability—while providing ongoing economies, efficiencies, and investment returns.
Client Objectives
The client wanted to improve energy efficiency, air quality, building comfort, and HVAC reliability in an 800,000-square-foot high school.
Solutions
Our energy specialists planned and installed a state-of-the-art BACnet facility management system with improved control algorithms for all air-handling units, variable air volume boxes, boilers, and chillers.
Once the new controls were installed, we completely recommissioned the building to optimize performance.
Client Background
