EMCOR Construction Services Midwest provided a complete upgrade of HVAC and lighting systems to help reduce operating costs for Cowan Elementary School.
Our thorough assessment process enabled us to predict energy savings with considerable accuracy. We self-performed all work for this project under a guaranteed energy savings contract that helped ensure energy savings of at least $14,897 annually for 10 years.
After seven years, the project was well on track to meet the guarantee, with annual savings averaging $17,838.
The building’s new cooling capacity and more efficient lighting enhances building comfort, and contributes to lowering operating costs. Overall, our solutions deliver ongoing economies, efficiencies, and investment returns.

Solutions
We self-performed all work required for this project, which included:
- Replacement of the building’s electric multi-zone rooftop heating units with a more efficient gas-fired multi-zone system with cooling capacity and temperature controls
- Complete upgrade of the building’s lighting system to T-8 lamps and electronic ballasts
