Value Delivered
EMCOR Construction Services Midwest helped Taylor Community School Corporation solve operational, repair, and maintenance expense issues caused by aging equipment, inefficient lighting, a leaking roof, and a grass sports field that required frequent watering.
We worked with the school's bond counsel to help ensure the project could be performed under a guaranteed energy savings contract. Scheduling the work as four separate projects throughout the year, during occupied and unoccupied times, helped prevent disruption to ongoing school activities.
Our solutions helped improve the comfort of their learning environment and allowed all teams and band members to use their new synthetic turf field regardless of the weather. The school realized measurable savings from a reduction in energy consumption and maintenance, and the elimination of field watering.
Client Objectives
The client needed infrastructure improvements in some of its learning environments, and solutions for a significantly worn sports field and leaking roof.
Solutions
In addition to renovating a roof on one of the school’s buildings, to address many areas affected by previous leaks during heavy rains, our solutions for this project included installation of:
- A new synthetic turf sports field
- Energy conservation measures to help improve lighting, optimize indoor temperatures, and control humidity, carbon dioxide, and noise levels
Client Background
Taylor Community School Corporation is a public school district serving approximately 1,300 students in three schools.
