Value Delivered
EMCOR Construction Services Midwest provided a building-wide energy management system upgrade for Bridgepoint Elementary, encompassing both electrical and mechanical solutions.
A number of improvements were focused on improving efficiency. We installed a new dual temperature piping distribution system and four relief exhaust fans that take advantage of the building’s natural air pressure. Two high efficiency condensing boilers and a dual temperature water circulating pumps were also installed. On the controls side, a cutting-edge BACnet direct digital control (DDC) system was integrated, an air-cooled chiller with new temperatures controls was added, and a C02 sensor was installed in every classroom.
Additionally, the project also featured the installation of 30 vertical unit ventilators and a custom-fabricated dispersion ductwork system that serves each classroom. This allowed for even air distribution and quiet operation.
The completed project will help significantly improve indoor air quality at the school, while also helping lower energy costs. Fully optimized energy savings are projected to be up to $8,629 annually, with another $76,000 in operational savings expected each year.
