Value Delivered

As a single-source supplier, EMCOR Construction Services Midwest self-performed the full scope of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work needed to achieve Duneland School Corporation’s multi-school project objectives.

By replacing outdated systems with new, energy-efficient solutions under a guaranteed energy savings contract (GESC), we were able to save our client more than $1.38 million on energy and operational costs over 10 years.

Our work helped to improve their school buildings’ air quality and comfort, enhance security, increase weather protection, prevent electrical outages, and extend HVAC systems’ longevity—while delivering ongoing economies, efficiencies, and investment returns.

Client Objectives

The client wanted to improve overall learning environments by increasing energy efficiency, reducing operating costs, and minimizing payback periods at six schools.

Solutions

In addition to replacing the boilers in all six schools, we installed new cooling systems in five of the schools for administrative, gymnasium, and (with the exception of Bailly Elementary) computer lab areas.

We also converted the HVAC system from a two-pipe to a four-pipe design at Westchester Intermediate School. In addition, we upgraded the weather-protection features at Brummitt, Jackson, and Liberty elementary schools.
