Value Delivered
EMCOR Construction Services Midwest provided controls and recommissions solutions for Greensburg Elementary School. The services are projected to result in annual savings of $77,705 for five years, totaling $388,525.
Client Objectives
The seven-year-old elementary school building was using more energy than it should have been for a building of its size and age. Greensburg Community Schools wanted to upgrade the controls system and re-commission the building to reduce energy use.
Solutions
In the past, the school district had worked with us on projects utilizing a design-build model. For this project, we instead leveraged one of our Guaranteed Savings Contracts, using this approach to help them finance the work and enhance savings.
Under that contract, we replaced the school’s poorly functioning controls systems with a new cutting-edge building automation system and provided retro-commissioning.
Client Background
Greensburg Community Schools serves roughly 2,000 students across Decatur County, IN.
